Katherine Heigl Smokes Electric Cigarettes on Letterman
By · CommentsRead our review of what we feel is the BEST Electric Cigarette on the market today- Blu Electric Cigarettes.
Katherine Heigl, star of Grey’s Anatomy and funny film Knocked Up (and a lot more), was on Letterman the other night smoking an electric cigarette, according to CBS News.
She said “[Electric Cigarettes] seem to be the only thing that works for me.”

Heigl was also quoted in US Magazine as saying that she “tried just about every other remedy on the market: the patch, chewing nicotine, even the prescription medication Chantex. [Electric Cigarettes] Seem to be the only thing that work for me.”

This is great because I feel that the more publicity e-cigarettes get, more people will latch on to them and try them out. That means less annoying second hand smoke for us…not to mention healthier lungs!

Learn the E-Smoker Lingo and Vocabulary!
By · CommentsWhen I first started vaping my electric cigarettes, I didn’t know what the hell the terms were. I hung out in forums and read blogs, but had no idea what some of the terms meant. Here is a quick recap of some of the most used terms:
Atomizer: This is the portion of electric cigarette hardware that heats the cartridge “juice” into a vapor.
Cartridge (Cart): A moulded plastic cartridge containing polyester filling material and “juice” for an electronic cigarette. A blank cart is one with only filling material, and no juice.
ECA: The Electronic Cigarette Association. A group of industry leaders, retailers, suppliers, and e-smokers who are fighting to make sure electronic cigarettes stay legal and available. Be sure to support them!!
E-liquid: The liquid used in electronic cigarettes that contains distilled water, flavoring, and nicotine.
Propylene Glycol (PG):The ingredient in most e-liquid recipes that produces vapor. Propylene Glycol, or PG, is on the FDA’s list of substances generally recognized as safe, and is used in everything from fog machines to artificial flavors.
Vaping: Actually using an electronic cigarette. Alternative word to smoking
So there ya have it. There are literally hundreds of other e-cig words that are thrown around, but these should get you started on the path to learning to talk the ecig talk

Be Careful with Free Trial Electric Cigarettes!
By · CommentsWith the popularity of electric cigarettes, unfortunately there are a lot of unethical individuals jumping on the e-cig bandwagon.
One of the offers I see a lot of these days are the “free trial” electronic cigarette offers.
If you look at the fine print, you’ll see that most of these companies aren’t really giving you a “free trial”. You will be auto-billed after a set amount of time, and sometimes it is VERY hard to cancel with these compaines. You literally have to cancel your credit card so they won’t bill it anymore.
Not fun.
It’s best to stick with the main brands you here people talking about on blogs and forums (or sites like this
) where you know the companies are “Real” and the ecigs are real too.
I’m not saying ALL free trial e cig offers are bad…but I’d say about 90% of them are! And the actual product usually sucks too.
What do you guys think, anyone been burned by the “free trial” for electric cigs?
I saw this question when I was browsing around today. It was at greenanswers.com and someone wanted to know if e cigs were better for the environment.
Of course, I had to jump in
The answer, of course, is yes! I mean think about it – would you rather have smoke going into our air, or water vapor? Smoke has sooo many chemicals it’s rediculous…electric cigarettes, on the other hand, don’t.
Someone made a comment about using e-cigs to quit smoking…again, the jury is out on this one. Companies are not allowed to market e-cigs as “smoking cessation devices”.
However, I do know A LOT of people who have really cut back on thier smoking thanks to smokeless cigarettes.
But hey if nothing else, at least you cut back on inhaling the *thousands* of chemicals that is in regular cigarette smoke.
Better for the environment, and better for you… I think we have a winner

Michigan Smoking Ban Equals More E-Cig Sales
By · CommentsSo about a month ago, Michigan enacted a smoking ban, following in the heels of all the other states that now outlaw smoking cigarettes indoors.
As expected, sales of E-Cigarettes increased in Michigan after this ban was put into place. Sweet!
However, the not-so-sweet part of this ban means that a lot of the restaurants and bars are seeing less business. Not cool, especially in our struggling economy!
Solution? Smokers should buy electric cigarettes to smoke indoors at these places! But a lot of people still don’t know what e-cigs are, so we need to educate them
As more states enact these smoking bans, the power of the electric cigarette will be displayed more and more.
Anybody have any stories about smoking thier e-cigs indoors in these states?
I was reading in an electronic cigarette forum this week about a lady who felt very blessed to have ecigs in her life.
For those that don’t know, “vaping” is the act of “using” an e-cig. Since you’re not smoking, you’re vaping…water vapor. Yea nice isn’t it
Anyway, this lady was waiting on her husband in the local hospital…I guess he was having surgery. She wanted to have a smoke but couldn’t leave the hospital. And smoking was a $100 ticket in the hospital too.
So what did she do? She wipped out her smokeless cigarette and started vaping, of course! And of course this was allowed, she got her “smoking” fix, and quote “made the scariest, most stressful week of my life bearable in a way that cigarettes never would have.”
Good deal!
Anyone else have any cool stories about using ecigs in stressful situations?
How Electric Cigarettes Save Money
By · CommentsIn recent cost comparisons, smokeless cigarettes have proven to be less expensive than traditional tobacco cigarette products. The comparison figures are creating excitement and increased interest in the new-age smokeless, odorless and safer smoking alternative to tobacco based products.
Smokeless cigarettes are free of tar, flame, carbon monoxide, carcinogens and ash. More than 3900 harmful chemicals have been eliminated in the new electric cigarettes. Now that the products are not only safer, but also less expensive than tobacco-based smoking products, consumers are buying smokeless cigarette products at record levels.
The electric cigarette consists of three basic components; the rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the atomizer and the nicotine cartridge. The electric cigarette smoker can choose from a variety of nicotine flavors and can also select the strength of the mixture, which can range from zero to medium strength.
With no smoke, no second hand smoke, no flame and no odor, smokeless cigarettes may be enjoyed at any time in any location. Users are “lighting up” in restaurants, on public transport or in any public venue. Without a flame or need for an ashtray, the smokeless products have become an enjoyable novelty item that many users are actually using to kick the tobacco habit.
To enjoy a smokeless cigarette, the user must first purchase a starter kit. Most starter kits are shipped free and cost around $60.00. For comparison purposes, one of the industry’s most popular products is the Blu electric cigarette. The Blu starter kit includes:
- A carrying case that also charges the battery
- Two electric cigarette batteries
- 1 Atomizer
- 1 Wall charging unit and 1 USB charger
- A variety pack of 25 cartridges in the strength of the purchaser’s choosing
- A 30 day money back guarantee and a one year warranty
Blue nicotine strength options include:
- Full flavored
- Light
- Ultra-light
- No nicotine
Five cartridges are equal to 30 cigarettes so the 25-cartridge pack is equal to 150 cigarettes. After the smokeless cigarette user purchases the starter kit, refill cartridges can be purchased in the following amounts:
- 25 cartridges (150 tobacco cigarettes) – $25.00
- 50 cartridges (300 tobacco cigarettes) - $45.00
- 100 cartridges (600 tobacco cigarettes) – $80.00
While the electric cigarette user must purchase the starter kit, the short and long-term savings will be substantial. For the individual who smokes one pack per day, the savings should be between $1,500 and $2,000 per year. Of course, as the cost of tobacco products and related taxes keeps increasing, the savings will only increase.
There are plenty of reasons to enjoy smokeless cigarettes. Cost is just one more positive feature of the electric cigarette experience.
How Do Electric Cigarettes Work?
By · CommentsThe word is out. Electric cigarettes are more than a temporary fad. Smokers are using the new-age electric cigarette to enjoy the smoking habit wherever and whenever they please. The electric cigarette experience is odorless, smokeless, free of the harmful chemicals contained in tobacco cigarettes and presents numerous taste and strength options. If you enjoy the feel and act of smoking and want traditional or novel tastes, the electric cigarette may well provide the precise experiences you seek.
So, how does this modern day miracle work? The electric cigarette is a combination of a scientific and technological advances along with a more practical solution to the smoking habit. Basically, the concept is embraced by new smokers, old smokers and smokers hoping to wean themselves from the smoking habit.
All electric cigarettes have three core components and include a mouthpiece and a tip that glows when the user inhales. The core components of the electric cigarette are:
- The Battery – Electric cigarettes typically use a rechargeable lithium ion battery to power the heating element. The battery also contains some circuitry to light the glow at the LED tip of the unit. The life of the battery is determined by the type and size of the battery as well as by the frequency of use. Batteries can be re-charged by using a number of battery charger options that accompany the starter kit.
- The Atomizer – When the smoker inhales, the atomizer is activated and heats the air flowing into the electric cigarette. The air vaporizes the liquid nicotine solution that is inhaled.
- The Nicotine Cartridge – The nicotine cartridge includes a mouthpiece and a reservoir to hold the nicotine solution. The solution consists of water and propylene glycol, a flavor and nicotine. The electric cigarette user can select from a number of flavors such as cherry, orange, traditional, coffee, vanilla, mint or caramel. Users can also choose from various nicotine strength levels that range from zero to low to medium.
The mouthpiece is a small plastic cup that contains an absorbent material that is moistened by the flavored solution in the nicotine cartridge. The nicotine cartridge usually needs refilling after 150 – 175 puffs.
To work properly and replicate the smoking experience, electric cigarettes depend on an airflow sensor and the LED light at the tip. This light simulates the ash and signals the battery’s function. Electric or smokeless cigarettes have many positive attributes including reduced health risks, no odor, no ash, low cost and plenty of enjoyment. Why not find out what all the fuss is about?
